Residents on Mixes Hill Road and St Thomas’s Road are angry about the proposed extension of Stopsley High School.
The proposed development is planned for the back of Mixes Hill Road and St Thomas’s Road.
Margaret Brown, of Mixes Hill Road, said: “The planned extension will bring the building closer to our homes. There will be issues with noise, privacy and parking.”
Philip Darnell,68, of St Thomas’s Road said: “No body is objecting to the school expansion, but the location is ridiculous, there are other options that are better suited.”
A spokesperson for the council said: “This enquiry relates to a planning application for the erection of a new school building on the existing campus site. The agenda for the next meeting of the Development Control Committee on 24 September has not yet been finalised, but if the application is considered at this meeting then members will carefully consider all relevant planning considerations and representations made in the consultation responses received, including the views of residents, before taking a decision.”
