Luton’s Community Safety Partnership, soLUTiONs, has launched an initiative to reduce burglaries in High Town and South wards by encouraging residents to make their homes as secure as possible.
Leaflets detailing how to arrange a free Home Security Assessment, are being distributed in target areas, there will advise on ways to improve security.
Councillor Naseem Ayub said: “Your risk of burglary is small but any burglary is one too many. Reducing burglary is one of SoLUTiONs’ highest priorities.
“We have identified High Town and South wards as areas where extra help for residents would be useful to keep homes and belongings safe.”
“Burglary across Luton, including South and High Town, continues to decrease and has dropped by 8 per cent compared to last year. We want to continue this positive trend by focusing our efforts into long term reductions.”
