A group of teachers from Foxdell Junior, Dallow Primary, Beech Hill Primary, Downside Primary, Foxdell infant and Whipperly infant schools joined teachers’ training on outdoor activities and a guided walk to the Dallow Downs Nature Trail Development.
The aim was to equip them with the skills to nurture young people in affordable activities linking with the curriculum and inspire them through nature how to engage in their local environment while encouraging more people to use their green spaces positively.
This unique training dealt with cultural barriers that can prevent people enjoying participation in the natural environment while seeing similarities with British folk culture and with other traditions. Additionally, teachers were also shown how to maximise the benefit of outdoor activities.
The day was led by the Faith Woodlands Communities project.
