A young man was admitted to hospital on Sunday (April 21) after being assaulted as he was about to get into a taxi.

Detectives in Luton are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place in Denham Close at 2.15pm.

Two men approached the victum and assaulted him for no reason before leaving the scene in a blue car.

The 22-year-old was taken to hospital where he was treated for cuts on his arms, legs and face.

The offenders were described as two black men in their 20s, approximately 6ft tall with a slim to medium build.

One wore sungalsses and a black beanie hat.

The officer in charge of the investigation, detective constable Mohammed Hussain, is keen to trace anyone who may have seen the assault or noticed a blue car in the area at lunchtime on Sunday.

He said: “This was an extremely violent assault which has left this young man scarred for life. We are still piecing together why this man was targeted in this way.

“it is possible the blue car was driving round the area prior to the assault and I would urge anyone with information to come forward and help identify those responsible.”

>If you can help, contact DC Hussain in confidence on 01582 394067, Bedfordshire Police on 101 or text information to 07786 200011.
