A training company is looking for other Luton businesses to support its free skills programme for unemployed people over the age of 19.

Logic4training, in Sundon Business Park, Dencora Way, has teamed up with Luton Adult Learning to offer a course into into trades like plumbing, heating, electrics and renewable technology installation.

The course, access to building services engineering covers employability skills, delivered by Luton Adult Learning. Candidates will leave with their basic CSCS card – necessary to work on most UK building sites.

Mark Krull, of Logic4training, said: “For employers, someone who has been on the access to building services course will already have the basic skills and knowledge to contribute to their business straight away. If they choose to take on an apprentice this is an excellent way to nurture budding stars of the future, while delivering a cost-effective solution to staffing issues.

“This presents a real opportunity for anyone with a willingness to learn, and an interest in how buildings operate, to get into a potentially lucrative career. Apart from traditional trades, building services engineering encompasses renewable technologies including solar thermal and heat pumps.

The City & Guilds course takes place over six weeks. Candidates will be given the opportunity to meet employers. Potential candidates should contact Jobcentre Plus. Employers can phone 0845 845 7222, or email enquiries@logic4training.co.uk
