Visitors and members at the recent OM Group Holi celebrations were drenched in the colours of this vibrant festival on Saturday March 30 at the Luton Town & Indians Cricket Club. Locals immersed themselves in festive spirits by pouring handfuls of bright coloured powder on each other to welcome the spring season.
The day was packed with an array of fun activities including workshop, presentation, children’s entertainment, treasure hunt and fun quiz.
Holi has a broad appeal. Hindus send their greetings and welcome good luck by throwing coloured powder to others and smearing people’s clothes with paint.
Vikas Acharya, chairperson of OM Group, said: “Men, women, adults and children all take part in dances.”
OM Group is a registered charity that is based in Luton, that aims to unite the community through social, sporting, educational and cultural events.
