The Luton Baha’i Community celebrated the start of its New Year on Saturday March 23 at the Chaul End Centre.
Like other religious traditions the Baha’is have Holy Days in their calendar, the most important of which is celebrating the Baha’i New Year, Naw Ruz, which coincides with the vernal equinox on 21st March. Naw Ruz is also the Iranian New Year
Despite the adverse weather conditions, friends, families, members of Luton Council of Faiths, MP Kelvin Hopkins joined in the feast. People gathered together to chat, listen to live music, enjoy food and celebrate this important occasion. There was also a special class for the children at the event which taught the virtues of excellence and service. The Luton Baha’i Community holds a variety of events that are open to all. Regular children’s classes for 8-11 year olds are held on Saturday afternoons in the Bramingham area. For more details please contact Geoff Collins on 01582 723514.
