Fighting fit, focused and dedicated; these youngsters were the toast of their taekwondo class when they returned from the Stomp championships.
For Alexa Ferhati, 7, Oskar Kutyla, 14, Victoria Hale, 9, and Daniel Ferhati, 10, it was their first championships since taking up Taekwondo less than a year ago.
Each of the students, who are taught by the Sidhu family, were selected to represent the club at the championships and were facing students from clubs in London.
Teacher Gav Sidhu said: “They competed with the intention of gaining invaluable experience to help them in future competitions but instead they went one further and two are now defending champions after each winning gold; Oskar in sparring and patterns and Victoria in patterns. Alexa made it to the final in sparring before just losing by one point in the final coming away with a silver, fighting her heart out. Her brother Daniel made it to the semi-finals of patterns and came away with a bronze.”
