Armed officers responded to an emergency call from a group of youths who claimed they were shot at in High Town this afternoon (March 1).
The incident occurred at 12.17pm, when the youths were gathered next to a car park in Wenlock Street.
One of the group – who did not want to be named – told the Luton News: “We were sat here drinking when I heard something hit the lamppost.
“I thought someone was throwing stones at us at first, but then I realised someone was shooting at us.
“One of the shots ricocheted off my bottle and hit me on the arm,” he claimed.
Police confirmed that armed officers entered an address in Wenlock Street, but a search for a weapon proved negative.
