A delivery driver was punched in the face and robbed of his vehicle before being mugged by a second offender who was pretending to help him.
The 41-year-old victim’s ordeal began as he was getting out of his vehicle in Tinsley Close at 9.15am on February 15.
A white man in his 20s snatched his keys, got in his car and drove off into Rotherham Avenue towards Farley Hill.
The victim was then trying to call the police when a second man who was walking a dog offered to help him.
This man, described as white and about 17 years old, took the victim’s phone and ran away, but the victim gave chase and the man dropped the phone before making his getaway.
The stolen blue VW people carrier was later found parked in garages in St Andrews Close in Slip End, with all the parcels on board.
Det Con Rebecca Kitts said: “This incident has left the victim shaken and bruised but otherwise unhurt. I would urge anyone who saw the incident in Tinsley Close or anyone who saw the people carrier being left in St Andrews Close, Slip End during that morning to contact the police.”
