A man has been charged with the murder of his wife who died from multiple stab wounds in on Sunday.
Ty Medland, 25, who lived in Peacehaven with former Ashcroft High School student Samantha Medland, 24, will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday February 20).
Sam, who grew up in Luton and had recently moved to Peacehaven with Mr Medland, was found in the street in Brighton at 8.45pm with serious injuries and taken to hospital where she later died.
Heartbroken mum Amelia Greening, 42, said: “Sam was a ray of sunshine and meant so much to so many people. She was close to her family and had been back to visit us a few times since she moved. She was here in January to meet her new little sister.”
Sam, as she was known, had a half brother and sister, Theresa and Ali, and her mother gave birth to another half-sister just before Christmas.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston of Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: “I would like to thank the members of public who have assisted us in our investigation so far.
“Our thoughts are with the family of Sam as they try to come to terms with her death.”
