A stash of cash raised in a charity gala dinner at Barnfield College has been officially presented to Keech Hospice Care.

Top London chefs worked alongside enthusiastic and talented students at the New Bedford Road College back in October to cook up a staggering £30,000 for the charity.

Barnfield Executive Director Federal Partnerships Helen Mayhew visited the hospice with event organiser, Executive Chef at The Sheraton Park Lane and former Barnfield student Andrew Bennett MBE to personally deliver the impressive sum with College staff, contributory chefs and the event committee.

Keech fundraising director Joanne Chettleburgh said: “It was a great photo shoot and the nurses were so pleased with all the money raised, once again thank you all so much.”

Barnfield’s Helen Mayhew said: “The event was such a fantastic fundraiser, celebrating not only the partnership between the hugely talented visiting chefs and our skilful students but also the kindness and generosity of the friends and acquaintances of Barnfield and promoting the vital work of Keech.

“It was a pleasure to be able to help deliver the money to the hospice, where it will help so many terminally ill patients and their families.”
