SOFIA MAHMUTAJ may be a little young to know about charity challenges, but she’s already showing signs of developing a social conscience when she’s older.
The feisty five-year-old is joining her father Ekrem in this year’s Keech Hospice Care Santa Fun Run.
The Wigmore Primary School pupil told the Luton News: “It’s going to be really fun running with Daddy and all the other Santas and it’s good to do something to help the charity and all the poorly children.”
Mum Catherine, who will be volunteering on the day, is a freelance copywriter for Keech.
So her daughter was introduced to the hospice, its work and the need to raise fundraise from an early age.
Catherine said: “Sofia’s very excited to be taking part.
“She loves the reindeer antlers and seeing her Daddy dressed as Santa is a big bonus just before Christmas.”
Proud dad Ekrem, who runs his own construction company, added: “It’s a great feeling for our family to be doing something together to help the hospice.
“There’s only one problem – everyone we know wants to sponsor Sofia, not me.”
