A platinum engagement ring was stolen in a burglary just before Christmas (Dec 23).
The burglar entered the house in Stanford Road, Luton, through a bathroom window and stole numerous items of jewellery as well as cash and a laptop.
A suspect has been charged in relation to this burglary but none of the stolen items have been recovered and police are asking the public for assitance in finding it, particularly the ring.
Det Con Mark Amey said: “This is a very unfortunate case where the victim has lost a very precious and sentimental item of jewellery that she would dearly like to get back. The ring is made of platinum and contains a large diamond in the middle which is surrounded by smaller diamonds.
“This is an extremely memorable ring and I’d really like to hear from any jewellers, antique dealers, pawn shops or members of the public who may have been offered it. Any information which could help us locate this ring would be greatly appreciated.”
