Former students returned to Luton Sixth Form College to celebrate their impressive achievements over the last academic year.
The college also welcomed proud parents and special guests as it hosted its 14th annual awards evening on December 19.
A total of 134 awards were presented, including the Principal’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Contribution to College Life 2012 which was given to Shaman Dolly, and The Chair of Governor’s Award for Best Achieving Student 2012 which was presented to Niloy Biswas.
Addressing the audience on the night, principal Chris Nicholls drew comparisons to the success stories of the Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
He said: “We have the opportunity to share in the success of some of our former students who followed a hard similar road. Determination, perseverance, stamina, commitment, an ability to deal with failure, to reflect and learn from mistakes, emotional resilience and courage – these are the characteristics which our award winners share with the Olympic sportsmen and women that thrilled us this year.”
