A new school has been given the seal of approval by inspectors who visited in the autumn.

King’s House School was visited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, which has now written to school principal, Andrew Cook, and to the Department for Education, with its findings.

The new school was set up after Moorlands School, where Dr Cook had been principal, was taken over by the Barnfield Federation.

In a letter to parents, Dr Cook said: “We are delighted with the extremely positive views and conclusions of the report.

“We believe it very much mirrors the plans we have so far put in place and more importantly those we will be implementing in the very near future.”

In their report, inspectors described pupils as “happy and fully engaged”, adding: “The rapport between pupils and staff was excellent.”

They praised assessment of children’s progress, and said the school’s leadership was strong.

Work to expand the school, which opened in September, is due to start this month, and will include two new classrooms and a gymnasium.
