Loaning out its chief executive will mean financial benefits for Luton Borough Council, the authority has said.
Last week the Luton News reported that Trevor Holden will next year take on two district councils – Breckland and South Holland – for a period of three months while the councils look for a new chief exec.
Asked what the arrangement would mean in financial terms, a Luton council spokesman said: “All three authorities are expected to benefit financially from the arrangement.
“The two other councils will be saving money and the fee paid to Luton for the chief executive time will represent an appropriate proportion of his salary.”
