A 14-year-old student was injured during a robbery in the Latimer Road and Park viaduct in Luton on Wednesday (December 12).

The victim was in the underpass at about 7.45pm when he was pushed from behind and rugby-tackled into the wall before being punched and kicked until he handed over his school bag.

The bag contained school work and an Apple iPhone 5.

Det Con Jabbar Khan said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim who has sustained a cut to his face along and grazing. I would ask anyone who has information relating to this incident or those responsible and anyone who may have seen a grey bag discarded in their area recently to contact the police, in confidence.”

Anyone with information relating to this investigation can contact DC Khan, in confidence, on 01582 394436, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
