A man was stabbed in a seemingly unprovoked attack as he sat in his girlfriend’s car in Dordans Road on Thursday (November 29).
The 26 year old was sat in the passenger seat of the car talking with his girlfriend at about 10.30pm when a car pulled up next to them and five men got out.
One of the men walked to the victim’s window and attacked him, resulting in four stab wounds to his legs, and the victim’s girlfriend was restrained by the other offenders when she tried to raise the alarm by sounding the car horn.
Det Con Mike Robinson said: “The victim doesn’t understand why this assault happened and he is lucky none of the wounds to his legs were more serious.”
The offenders left the scene in their car which was silver, possibly a Peugeot 207, and had recent damage to its nearside door area.
Det Con Robinson said: “I appeal to anyone who saw the offence or anyone, perhaps garage owners who have been approached to undertake repairs to this type of car, to come forward and speak with the police. We believe the damage will be close to the vehicle’s door and happened when the car pulled away from the scene as it was so closely parked to the other car.”
One of the offenders is described as a black man, between 22 and 25 years of age, 5’9” tall with a medium build and short black hair. Another offender is described as a man with a mixed race appearance and a pale complexion, between 22 – 25 years of age with a slim build and shoulder length hair in plaits. The other offenders are all described as black men.
