A woman had cash stolen from her while she waited in a queue at the Post Office in Sundon Park Road yesterday (November 20).
The 45 year old was queuing at about 8.45am and had put a bag conatining the cash on the floor next to her, which was snatched by a man who then ran from the scene.
A man was arrested in Kent Road shortly after the incident and has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
PS Ruth Connelly said: “If you have to take cash to the bank or post office please take extra precautions to ensure that you and the money stay safe. Don’t transport the cash alone, change the route you travel on a regular basis and keep an eye on who is around you at all times. If you see anyone acting suspiciously contact the police, immediately.”
