A 14-year-old girl was attacked by another woman in an attempted robbery in Luton.
The teenager was walking with two friends in St Thomas’ Road and Hitchin Road alleyway at 3.25pm on November 13 when she was grabbed from behind by her hair.
The female offender pulled her hair and demanded the victim’s phone, and when she refused to hand it over the attacker started to punch and slap her before fleeing towards St Thomas’ Road.
The offender is described as white, in her mid-teens, with chest length hair and an Irish accent. She was wearing a strappy white top under a pale denim jacket, with navy blue jeans.
Det Con Rebecca Kitts said: ““This was an unprovoked and vicious assault on a teenage girl as she was making her way home after school. Nothing was stolen during the attack but I want to locate the offender as soon as possible to stop her from committing any further offences.
“I would really like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery or anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us. Please don’t dismiss your information as unimportant – even tiny details which don’t seem relevant now might become useful later on in the investigation.”
